Persuasive Essay on Human Rights Article 5 No one shall be subjected to torture or to cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment.

We are called humans for a reason, we are a race that is supposed to understand the qualities of being humane, civilized and the values of moral. Yet despite our "name" we act no different from animals, we often subjugate others to an intolerable, cruel, and harsh treatment. One of the examples that can be seen clearly today is India, in which due to religion a certain group of people in the caste system called the "untouchables" are treated inhumanely.

Such treatments against the group of people should not be allowed because on a logical sense, it encourages the exploitation of the group which proves to be an incentive for crime organizations. By treating others as if they are inferior to the other would be simply stating that everyone is not equal and therefore would open to a topic of injustice in the human rights or birthrights.

In India, the caste system voids an estimated amount of million of people called the "untouchables" or domestically known as Dalits from the law that safeguards their human rights.

Furthermore they are almost not even considered humans by the Indian custom. If the loophole in the law caused by religion results in negligence for that group of people, then technically people from a higher caste or even a foreigner may exploit the untouchables.

So basically, the law is, in a way, saying that "go ahead, do what you want to the untouchables, no one cares" which would lead to a chain of problems. Such loopholes in the law allows for crime organizations to exploit this group of people through turning the kids in the group of untouchables into handicapped beggars, making the girls into prostitutes, or even encourage trafficking which is a seriously major problem in the society today.

Twenty Good Argumentative Essay Topics On Human Right

Ironically, you are a non-socially-existent existence in India if you were to be born as a untouchable in India. With that mindset, you will feel something akin to paranoia of people hurting you, drugging you one day and then turning you into slaves and such. The paranoid feeling will grow stronger, and that is no emotional condition for a healthy person.

Furthermore, since no one wants to interact or even be near you, just because of an ancient decree of some religion, the reasons for you to exist may cease to exist.

As an untouchable, you will feel as you are worthless than garbage because nothing about you at all is valued according to the customs and the society making you feel virtually non-existent. Being an untouchable is like a death sentence, emotionally, for the person.

Justice and equal birthrights are the only explanation for all of that, since birth, no one has any superiority over another, we all have family, the right to live and such.

But because of society, imposing the laws of religion, that equality then becomes non-existent because people are treated differently. The untouchables are treated as, forgive my rudeness, scums of the earth which is wrong morally because we all are of the same earth, the same origin and yet we are treated differently.

The unfair treatment of the untouchables are unjustifiable and injustice because if we examine on a basis that excludes the norms of India, they are no different from those of higher caste.
